Is everything you make 100% vegan?

Yes! We are passionate about providing food to the community that is full of flavor, texture, nutrients, comfort + love but without a single trace of animal products!

This means we create 99% our dishes from scratch (we don’t bake our own buns or bread, we leave that to the professionals like Rotella’s + Le Quartier) and avoid common overlooked non-vegan ingredients such as honey, fish bladders (IYKYK), whey, bone char, gelatin, fish sauce, the list goes on and on.

My husband, daughter, partner, {insert human here} isn’t vegan, will they like your food?

We have always been so surprised (happily so!) at how many of our meat eating friends regularly seek out and enjoy (and dare we say, CRAVE!) our dishes. Sometimes our customers even sneakily serve our dishes to their friends, guests, etc. without telling them it is vegan, and they never know the difference!

To be clear, we are not in the business of tricking anyone, but rather committed to creating dishes that aren’t your typical, stereotypical “vegan” food (AKA mushy tofu and cold lettuce salads, blech!) and so who cares that it doesn’t have any meat, cheese or dairy in it? Our dishes are incredibly satisfying and nourishing - nobody feels like they are missing out on anything!

I miss your restaurant! How do I enjoy my favorite dishes now?

You don’t have to miss our restaurant any longer! In August of 2023, we reopened in the exact same space we started our journey 5 years (TO THE DAY!) ago. We are located in the Meadowlane Shopping Center, in the northeast corner of 70th + Vine, right between True Skin Spa + Great Wall. The restaurant space is all ours, and we are finally home. We have a menu larger than it’s ever been and are very proud of the dishes we are able to hand craft and fuel our community with. Check out our weekly hours on our home page. We are available for dine in (our dining rooms seats 20ish and is fast casual), carry out (order ahead on our app - download on Google Play or the App Store, just search “Rutabagas Comfort Food” and look for our logo) and delivery via GrubHub.

We host bingo every Thursday night - free to play, and you can win free desserts, nachos and more!
